I have tins of it....how much do want?? the lot i here you say??lol,
Well Ive not been up to much this last fortnight but i have made a little progress,I made the decision to paint my block whilst i had it out so i have gave a it a few coats of undercoat and gave it 4 coats of Red,Its not way perfect but it sure is better than it was,
I also gave the rear towing eye a coat or two lol just to match the front,
I also gave the valves a grind in so i could check them for leaks before the head go's off to have its work done... if there is any leaks? and i can't cure them? they can replace valves seats if needed,
You can see the distinctive gray line where they have been ground in if you look closely,

I hope to get some parts i need this week so i will update as and when i have some more to update on,

Re: Scuderia's Project
Hi All,
Well i have just ordered myself an uprated mls gasket head set that was delivered in Friday...its not the one i wanted but its all i could afford but iam sure it will fit the bill and will be better than the one that i have just removed thats for sure,
I have also just ordered all the paper and rubber oil gasket seals i need to get the bottem end all built back up from Fiat so all going well they should be here on Tuesday??
I also got the coolent pipe o-ring fitted and bolted back on the block as well as the water pump fitted and sealed,i just used the same pump as i removed as its only been on the car for just less than a 1000 miles or one year so it should be ok,
Now i have just done a deal for more parts from another member but more on that when i pay for them in August and pick them up,
Thats about it for the minute,
All the best Scuderia

Re: Scuderia's Project
Hi All,
Well a little update before i go away for the weekend,
As i said the other day i have bought some parts that have just been delivered today,
1. Uno 999 inlet manifold thanks to Ming,
It has already been ported out and opened up for the larger throttle body it just needs fine tuned, it has a more direct air fow compaired to the standard Cento inlet so that has to be a good thing, oh it also needs a hole tapped into it for the mass air flow sensor pipe but thats not a problem to me,
2. The other parts i also ordered from Fiat last week arrived today
Oil pump pickup tube rubber oil seal
Oil pump housing rubber oil seal
Oil pump paper housing gasket
Flywheel rubber oil seal
Flywheel housing paper oil gasket,
So all going well i should get the work that needs done to the inlet to finish it off next week and all going well get the bottom half of the engine all built back up
Cheers Scuderia

Re: Scuderia's Project
Hi All,
Well i had a little time on my hands today so i was able to get the oil pump primed with fresh oil and fitted using the new paper gasket and crankshaft rubber oil seal i got from Fiat last week,
I also got the other paper gasket and rubber oil seal fitted on the flywheel housing,
I still have the oil pick up pipe to fit with its new rubber oil seal but i will leave that till a later date as its just going to get in my way if i do fit now,
Finally yesterday i was able to give that Uno 999 inlet manifold i got fine tuned and finishing off by opening up the ports a little more to meet the gasket size and all the mating surfaces all cleaned up ready for fitting,
Thats about all i have time for, more as and when i get more done...as always,
Cheers Scuderia

Yeah 2 years this October doesn't time fly when your having fun
To be honest iam not sure,i have these other parts to pay for in August that Ive bought from Ming and all going well i should then get the head skimmed and flywheel lightened in August or September?then i can start getting it all back together apart from the gearbox as that will have to wait until i can afford to buy a new fast road clutch & thrust bearing, i have lots of other silly and expensive parts to buy between now and then to get it all back together but like i said i have gave myself until next Spring to get it all finished but i would like the engine back together before the damp weather sets back in with bare steel lying about my garage is dry but it can get very damp in the winter so like i said it would be good to get the engine built back before the end of Oct and back in place where it should be ,
We'll See,
Cheers Scuderia

Re: Scuderia's Project
Hi All,
Well i have a little update,
Nothing special,
Well i bought some more new parts today from Fiat, nothing special just things i needed so they had to be bought,
Sump bolts
Sump studs for the corners
Sump studs nuts
Engine block dowels
Flywheel bolts
Now there should have been a new timing belt delivered today but it never turned up.. tomorrow?? who knows ah,
I have also made the decision to fit an oil cooler kit....as you do but until i get the cash together to buy it i have started by changing my thermostat to 82 degrees c rather than 87 c, all i now need to do is get the radiator switch sensor...so all going well i will get that in the next 3 weeks,
Stock thermostat stripped down
Now fitted with its new inner Ford Fiesta 82 c actuator
Now i was going to changed the coolant hoses??? but after cleaning the old ones up i made decision not to as they are in great condition,
So i went out yesterday and got some new Jubilee clips for them ready for when they go to be fitted again,
Thats about it more as and when i have more updates,
Cheers Scuderia

Re: Scuderia's Project
Well here we go thanks to Ming,
One spare 1108cc engine with throttle body ,coil packs, inlet manifold and other little bit pieces,
I hope to get it cleaned up using the power washer later this week then i can oil it up and pack it away until i decided what to do with it?? spares i think? not sure yet,
I got the Colombo Bariani Performance 268 Degree high lift Camshaft removed this morning and cleaned ready for fitting into mine,
Now the Supersprint exhaust manifold is badly marked with getting blasted with years worth of road crud  but its still solid:cool:
Cheers Scuderia
